Bis zur letzten Sekunde konnte ich nicht glauben, dass es wirklich stattfindet. Das Metal Hammer Paradies (MHP) u.a. mit Thundermother. Auch wenn ich seit dem Beginn von Corona viele Konzerte, die meisten von Thundermother, gesehen habe, ist das MHP einen andere Veranstaltung. 4.000 Leute, 3 Bühnen und eine Vielzahl von Bands. Die Genehmigung des Festivals war nur dank eines gut ausgearbeiteten Hygienekonzepts möglich. In den vergangenen Jahren war ich immer beim MHP doch dieses Jahr war ich schon nervös. Wie werden die Mädels beim Publikum ankommen. 2017 haben Sie noch auf der kleinen Bühne im Ballroom gespielt, dieses Jahr ist es die große Bühne im Zelt. Samstag um 17:15 Uhr geht es mit dem bekannten Intro los. Von der erste Sekunde wird wieder klar, dass die Mädels sich auf großen Bühnen genauso wohlfühlen wie in den Clubs. Besonders bei Mona war keine Nervosität zu spüren und der kleine Dämon beherrscht den Bass, als hätte sie nie etwas anderes gemacht. Die bekannte und bewährte Setlist wird mit viel Energie und Spielfreude den Fans präsentiert. Beim Song “shoot to kill” spielt sie das Solo in der Menge im sehr gut gefüllten Zelt. Gefreut habe ich mich, dass bei „we fight for rock n roll” der Beastie Boys Part (fight for your right) wieder aufgenommen wurde. Das verleiht dem Song eine besondere Note und holt auch die Fans noch einmal ab. An diesem späten Nachmittag ist die Fanbase haben die Mädels sicherlich wieder viele neue Fans gewonnen. Ich behaupte mal Thundermother waren der heimliche Headliner des Festivals.

Even though I have seen many concerts since Corona started, most of them by Thundermother, the MHP is a different event. 4,000 people, 3 stages and a variety of bands. The approval of the festival was only possible thanks to a well-developed hygiene concept. In the past years I was always at the MHP but this year I was already nervous. How will the crowd reacation to the girls? In 2017 they played on the small stage in the Ballroom, this year it’s the big stage in the tent. Saturday at 17:15 it starts with the well-known intro. From the first second it is again clear that the girls feel just as comfortable on big stages as in the clubs. Especially with Mona there was no nervousness to be felt and the little demon masters the bass as if she had never done anything else. The well-known and proven setlist is presented to the fans with a lot of energy and joy of playing. During the song “shoot to kill” Filippa plays the solo in the crowd in the very well filled tent. I was pleased to hear that during “we fight for rock n roll” the Beastie Boys part (fight for your right) was taken up again. This gives the song a special touch and also picks up the fans once again. On this late afternoon the girls has surely won many new fans. I say Thundermother were the secret headliner of the festival.
