Emlee was kind enough to answer all the questions about the Heat Wave Deluxe Edition that André sent from the German fan club. Many thanks for that
- You chose the name ThundermotherNation for the fan club yourself. Why did you choose this name?
We always thought ”Kiss Army” was a really cool name for a fanclub and we dreamed of something similar, and when ”Thundermother Nation” came up as a suggestion we all loved it! And the name tells a lot about what it is, it’s not just a fan club, it is a powerful community and a sense of belonging – where everyone is welcome! And we are really proud of how everything is turing out, you guys have made the most welcoming environment for everyone, filled with good spirit, happiness and passion for music! Thank you for being the best fanclub!
- Since last Friday, pre-orderers of the Heat Wave Deluxe Edition can hear the songs digitally at getnext. Would you like to tell us something about the new songs?
First of all, we really hope you like it. We had so much fun making it and we are so proud of it.
The Road is Ours was made during corona and it’s about not giving up, to stay positive and to never give up on your dreams! Musically we loved how this tune turned out, a very fun mix of different influxnces!
Show me what you got, is a song we wrote together with a big Swedish producer called Chips Kiesbye. He has worked a lot with swedish bands like Hellacopters and Millencolin. It’s a high energy punch in the face song, a la Motörhead!
You can’t handle me, is a little more modern rock sounding song that has a strong female power encouraging message!
We had a lot of fun recording the acoustic versions, and we think they turned out really great! Since we removed the drums on those tracks Emlee is actually playing guitar with Filippa on those tracks! We also had fun with instruments like mandolin and banjo!
- Please tell us the stories about the videos for The Road … and You can‘t …
Our management came up with the cinema idea, and we thought it sounded really fun! Us watching ourselves at the cinema, haha! And it was also fitting the song, since the cinema movie we had was a nice mix of good memories from our tours in 2020 – we were the only band touring and the road was ours! We had so much fun making all movie tributes in the video, it was just a day filled with creativity and fun recording this video! And of course, lots of popcorn, haha!
For the ”You can’t handle me” video we wanted to show different kind of female strength. We are strong females in the music industry and we wanted to highlight other kinds of industries. And the result was this cool duett between a ballerina and a fighter.
- Is there anything else you would like to say to the fans?
We just wanna thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support you are giving us! It means the world to us and we just want this pandemic to be over soon so we can get back on the road again and play shows and meet all of you!
