Wie kam ich zu Thundermother?
Nun, es begann an einem kalten trüben Tag kurz vor Weihnachten 2017 in Leuven (Belgien).
Damals lebte und arbeitete ich in Brüssel und hatte Besuch von einem Kumpel aus Berlin. Tagesausflug in das kleine Städtchen nebenan und nach dem Frühstück planlos umhergestreift, bis wir einen von der Welt fast vergessenen Plattenladen fanden, der uns magisch anzog. Mit beiden Händen in Vinyl der 70er und 80er wühlend, verlangte die im Hintergrund laufende Musik unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Handgemachte Rock-Musik mit old-school-Touch, aber auch gleichzeitig modern. War das wirklich Vintage?
Kurze Nachfrage beim Inhaber und da war das Zauberwort “Thundermother”, eine all-ladies Band aus Schweden.
Zu Hause sofort alle verfügbaren Youtube-Videos angeschaut und CDs geordert. Der Virus war da.
Tatsächlich sollte es dann noch gut 1 1/2 Jahre dauern, bis ich die Mädels live sehen durfte. Wieder ein “Zufall”.
Genervt im Zug von Potsdam nach Kiel – ausgerechnet zur Kieler Woche – grummelte ich vor mich hin. Zur Stimmungsaufbesserung regte meine Frau an, mir doch das Programm der Kieler Woche für das vor uns liegende Wochenende anzusehen. Kurz im Internet nachgesehen und da war das Zauberwort schon wieder: “Thundermother”. Am gleichen Abend auf der Radio BOB-Bühne. Schlagartig wurde meine Laune besser. Erst recht als wir dann mit einem Bier in der Hand die schwedischen Energiebündel auf der Bühne erlebten. Mit breitem Grinsen haben wir den Auftritt song für song mitgefeiert und wollten uns schon auf den Nachhauseweg machen, als der Moderator ankündigte, die Band würde noch zum Merch-Stand kommen. Da wir relativ weit von der Bühne weg standen, waren wir direkt am gegenüber aufgebauten Stand. Die Stars kamen und waren überhaupt nicht unnahbar, sondern fast ein bisschen schüchtern. Fotos und Autogramme von allen waren dann tatsächlich ein Highlight und gleichzeitig der Auftakt einer Fan-Liebe, die durch die sympathische Art der Band weiter genährt wird.
How did I come to Thundermother?
Well, it started on a cold gloomy day just before Christmas 2017 in Leuven (Belgium).
At that time I was living and working in Brussels and had a visit from a buddy from Berlin. Day trip to the small town next door and after breakfast wandered haphazardly until we found a record store almost forgotten by the world, which attracted us magically. Rummaging through vinyl of the 70s and 80s with both hands, the music playing in the background demanded our attention. Handmade rock music with an old-school touch, but modern at the same time. Was this really vintage? Short inquiry to the owner and there was the magic word “Thundermother”, an all-ladies band from Sweden.
At home immediately watched all available Youtube videos and ordered CDs. The virus was there.
In fact, it should take a good 1 1/2 years until I was allowed to see the girls live. Again a “coincidence”.
Annoyed in the train from Potsdam to Kiel – at the Kieler Woche of all times – I grumbled to myself. To improve my mood, my wife suggested that I take a look at the Kiel Week program for the weekend ahead. I had a quick look on the Internet and there was the magic word again: “Thundermother”. On the same evening on the Radio BOB stage. All of a sudden my mood got better. Even more so when we saw the Swedish energy bundles on stage with a beer in our hands. With broad grins we celebrated the gig song by song and were about to go home when the presenter announced that the band would come to the merch stand. Since we stood relatively far away from the stage, we were directly at the booth set up opposite. The stars came and were not at all aloof, but almost a bit shy. Photos and autographs from all were then actually a highlight and at the same time the prelude to a fan love, which is further nourished by the sympathetic nature of the band.

Meine Thundermother Geschichte ist so einfach und so herzhaft wie eine frische Scheibe Brot mit Butter. Gehört habe ich die Mädels bis zum Sommer 2019 bei Radio Bob wohl schon öfter, aber nicht wirklich registriert.
Radio Bob oder irgendein Stream hat mir immer die Heimfahrt vom letzten Kunden nach Hause versüßt.
Im Sommer 2019 sind wir zum Taarstedt Open Air, eigentlich um New Model Army zu hören………..aber der absolute Oberhammer waren die Mädels, die eine supergeile Show abgeliefert haben. Seitdem bin ich geflasht und ein bisschen mehr Fan.
My Thundermother story is as simple and as hearty as a fresh slice of bread with butter. Heard I have the girls until the summer of 2019 at Radio Bob probably often, but not really registered.
Radio Bob or some stream has always sweetened my drive home from the last client.
In the summer of 2019 we went to Taarstedt Open Air, actually to listen to New Model Army………..but the absolute Oberhammer were the girls, who delivered a super awesome show. Since then I’m flashed and a bit more fan.

Das erste Mal habe ich Thundermother persönlich auf einem VIP Konzert 2018 im Black Pearl in Flensburg kennengelernt. Das Video zur Akustikversion ist auch auf YouTube zu sehen. Ein wunderbarer Abend!
Auf dem Baltic Open Air hatten wir auch Spaß. Ein Foto suche ich gleich mal heraus. Doch die größten Highlights waren für mich die Videodrehs im Februar 2020 und zu “Into the mud”. Ich liebe diese Nähe zu den Fans, die sie einem bieten. Die Vier sind einfach unglaublich, genauso wie die Fangemeinschaft.
The first time I met Thundermother in person was at a VIP concert 2018 at the Black Pearl in Flensburg. The video of the acoustic version can also be seen on YouTube. A wonderful evening!
We also had fun at the Baltic Open Air. I’ll look for a photo in a moment. But the biggest highlights for me were the video shoots in February 2020 and for “Into the mud”. I love this closeness to the fans that they offer you. The four of them are just incredible, as is the fan community.

Wie ich Thundermother – Fan wurde.
Vorsichtshalber erzähl ich mal, wie meine Beziehung zum Rocknroll entstanden ist, sonst ist manches vielleicht schwer nachvollziehbar.
1970 musste mein großer Bruder mich auf ein Konzert mitschleppen, weil er grade die Aufsicht hatte. Mit grade mal 11 Jahren kam ich also in die Weser Ems Halle in Oldenburg. Ca. 4000 Besucher ohne Bestuhlung. Die Band : Deep Purple, damals die lauteste Band der Welt. Erst wurde mir schlecht, dann war ich infiziert – jo, meine Bestimmung war gefunden.
3 Jahre später überlebte ich meinen 1. Livegig, 4 Jahre später waren wir die Könige des Schulhofs und nach 8 Jahren fanden wir uns mit “Klärwerk” auf einer Open Air Bühne vor 20.000 Leuten wieder.
Leider gings erstmal deutlich schneller wieder abwärts. Die Achterbahn hatte Fahrt aufgenommen. Mitte 80er basste ich in einer sehr ausgeschlafenen Hardrockband (Jealousy) immerhin wieder auch durch unsere Nachbarländer.
Nach und nach wurden allerdings Jobs als Tourtech immer mehr und die eigenen Gigs immer weniger. Aber so lernte ich auch wirkliche Stars kennen und stellte fest, dass es mehr oder weniger alles normale Menschen sind, die abseits der Fanmassen am liebsten ganz normale Dinge tun, was auf Tour oft sehr schwierig ist.
Anfang 90er war ich an einer Insolvenz beteiligt und die Knie, einige Bandscheiben und mein Alkoholkonsum machten grundlegende Veränderungen notwendig, also stieg ich aus dem Rocknrollzirkus aus. Dachte ich zumindest. Er lässt einen nicht wirklich los. Der Rocknroll. (Der Alk schon – und Tschüss)
Nach und nach ergaben sich wieder kleinere Projekte als Basser und Sänger, in fussballdeutsch so 4. – 6. Liga. Mittlerweile bin ich 61 und lebe noch, anders als ziemlich genau die Hälfte der früheren Bandkollegen.
Im Sommer 20 hing ich mit 1,50m Abstand und Maske vor mir in meiner Stammkneipe bei Flens alkfrei Radler ab und hörte plötzlich aber so richtig geilen, mir unbekannten Hardrock im Radio. Ich so “Heino, mach ma lauter, wer ist das”? Er so “Thundermother aus Schweden”. Ich so “Bitte, bitte, bitte, lauter, viel lauter”. Kein Widerspruch- zuhause dann auf Youtube gesucht und gefunden, was mir soo lange gefehlt hatte.
Für mich machen Thundermother da weiter, wo meine beste aktive musikalische Phase durch die damaligen Lebensumstände beendet wurde. Die Mädels sind einfach der Hammer. Speziell Majsan liefert am Precision Bass so derart göttlich ab, dass ich schon zuhause am PC richtig ausgerastet war.
Und dann kam der 21.10.2020 in Münster. Da ich 170 km von Münster entfernt in Oldenburg wohne, hatte ich mich früh auf den Weg gemacht, wollte ohne Streß parken, noch ein bisschen in der Gegend rumgucken und entspannt das Konzert näher kommen lassen. Allerdings sind direkt neben dem Außenbereich des Jovels (coronabedingt draußen überdachter Livekonzertbereich) Parkplätze, zwar offiziell für anliegenden Firmen, aber grade frei. Also unauffällig rein da.
Dann hörte ich die Bassdrum beim soundcheck und bei mir war alles zu spät. Ein Teil meines Unterbewusstseins schoss mich wie Marty Mc Fly 35 Jahre zurück in die Zukunft nach 1985. Es war wirklich schwierig für mich, nicht völlig auszurasten. Irgendwie mit Hilfe einer sehr tiefentspannten Security kam ich wieder halbwegs runter. “Nein Jens, Du gehst nicht zur Bühne und nervst da rum, du schiebst Deinen Hintern Richtung Fussgängerzone und kommst heute Abend zum Konzert wie jeder halbwegs normal Mensch” sagte ich dann halblaut zu mir selber, parkte draußen und tat wie gedacht.
Dann der Gig. Aaalder. So cool wie Thundermother sind wir früher dann doch nicht gewesen. Vom 1. Ton an allererste Hardrockbrettsahne. Wirklich Championsligue. Trotz völlig souveräner Show immer noch Zeit für kurze Augenkontakte mit den Fans und von Beginn an eine einzigartige Atmosphäre. Ich hab wirklich ne Menge Bands gesehen, aber das war einfach unbeschreiblich gut. Total sicher aufeinander eingespielt, echte Freude am rocken und einfach nix, wirklich nix zu meckern. Was mich auch sehr beeindruckt hat – kleine technische Probleme wurden nebenbei gelöst, ohne dass der Spielfluss irgentwie darunter zu leiden hatte. Filippas Ausflug beim Solo ins Publikum war der Burner. Coronamässig direkt zuvor einen Schal hochgezogen, allerdings etwas zu hoch. Ist ja auch schwierig, während des Gitarrensolos sowas zu tun. Also konnte sie kaum was sehen und hat das Ding trotzdem knallhart durchgezogen. So geht Rocknroll.
Thundermother haben mich wirklich glücklich gemacht an dem Abend. Und das ist nicht so einfach. Alles echt. Alles gut.
How I became a Thundermother fan.
To be on the safe side, I’ll tell you how my relationship to rocknroll came about, otherwise some things might be hard to understand.
In 1970 my big brother had to drag me to a concert because he was in charge. So at the age of 11 I came to the Weser Ems Halle in Oldenburg. About 4000 visitors without seating. The band: Deep Purple, at that time the loudest band in the world. First I felt sick, then I was infected – yep, my destiny was found.
3 years later I survived my 1st live gig, 4 years later we were the kings of the schoolyard and after 8 years we found ourselves with “Klärwerk” on an open air stage in front of 20.000 people.
Unfortunately, things started to go downhill much faster. The roller coaster had picked up speed. In the middle of the 80’s I played in a very well rested hardrock band (Jealousy) and toured our neighboring countries again.
Gradually, however, jobs as a tour tech became more and more and the own gigs less and less. But that’s how I got to know real stars and found out that they are more or less all normal people who like to do normal things away from the fan masses, which is often very difficult on tour.
In the early 90s I was involved in a bankruptcy and my knees, some discs and my alcohol consumption made fundamental changes necessary, so I got out of the rocknroll circus. At least I thought I did. It doesn’t really let you go. The rocknroll. (The booze does – and bye).
Little by little I started again smaller projects as a bass player and singer, in soccer German so 4th – 6th league. Meanwhile I’m 61 and still alive, unlike pretty much half of my former bandmates.
In the summer of 20 I hung out with 1.50m distance and mask in front of me in my regular pub with Flens alkfrei Radler and suddenly heard but so really cool, unknown to me hard rock on the radio. I so “Heino, make ma louder, who is that”? He said “Thundermother from Sweden”. I said “Please, please, please, louder, much louder”. No contradiction – at home I searched on Youtube and found what I had been missing for so long.
For me, Thundermother continue where my best active musical phase ended due to life circumstances at that time. The girls are just awesome. Especially Majsan delivers so divinely on the Precision Bass that I was already freaking out at home on the PC.
And then came the 21.10.2020 in Münster. Since I live 170 km away from Münster in Oldenburg, I had made myself early on the way, wanted to park without stress, look around a bit in the area and let the concert approach relaxed. However, right next to the outdoor area of the Jovel (corona-conditioned outside covered live concert area) parking spaces, although officially for adjacent companies, but just free. So inconspicuously purely there.
Then I heard the bass drum at the soundcheck and with me everything was too late. A part of my subconscious shot me like Marty Mc Fly 35 years back into the future after 1985. It was really difficult for me not to completely freak out. Somehow with the help of a very deeply relaxed security I came halfway down again. “No Jens, you don’t go to the stage and annoy around there, you push your butt towards the pedestrian zone and come to the concert tonight like any halfway normal person” I then said half aloud to myself, parked outside and did as thought.
Then the gig. Aaalder. We were not as cool as Thundermother in the past. From the 1st tone on the very first hardrock cream. Really Championsligue. Despite a completely sovereign show there was still time for short eye contacts with the fans and from the beginning a unique atmosphere. I’ve seen a lot of bands, but this was just indescribably good. Totally confidently played together, real joy of rocking and just nothing, really nothing to complain about. What also impressed me a lot – small technical problems were solved on the side, without the flow of the game suffering in any way. Filippa’s excursion into the audience during the solo was the burner. Corona-like, she pulled up a scarf right before, but a bit too high. It’s difficult to do that during a guitar solo. So she could hardly see anything and still did the thing hardcore. That’s rocknroll.
Thundermother really made me happy that night. And that’s not so easy. All real. All good.

Ich habe Thundermother das erste Mal 2017 in Wacken gesehen. Noch nie was vorher von denen gehört. Die haben mich total geflasht. Ich glaube, die sind auf der Beergarden Stage aufgetreten, wo mein Kumpel und ich uns gerade vom ewigen Schlammwandern bei einem Bier ausgeruht haben. Ab dem 2.Lied standen wir in der ersten Reihe. Seitdem habe ich die Mädels 6 mal gesehen. Wacken 2018 und 2019 und mehrere kleine Club Konzerte. Das letzte Mal am 10.September 2020 in Oberhausen im Resonanzwerk. Klasse Auftritt, wie immer eigentlich. Es wurden Coronaregelungen eingehalten. Man saß an Tischen mit Abstand. Irgendwann standen wir auf – es ging einfach nicht anders-so ist es,denn Thundermother bedeutet immer 200%.
Das war gleichzeitig auch mein letztes Konzert. Toll auch,dass sie danach immer für die Fans da sind. Fotos, kurzer Austausch, Autogramme u.s.w. sind IMMER möglich.
Ich hoffe die Zeiten werden irgendwann wieder besser und es kommt wieder ein Stück weit Normalität auf.

I saw Thundermother for the first time in 2017 in Wacken. Never heard of them before. They totally flashed me. I think they performed on the Beergarden Stage, where my buddy and I just rested from the eternal mud hiking with a beer. From the 2nd song on we were in the front row. Since then I have seen the girls 6 times. Wacken 2018 and 2019 and several small club concerts. The last time on September 10, 2020 in Oberhausen at Resonanzwerk. Great gig, as always actually. Corona rules were observed. One sat at tables with distance. At some point we stood up – it just could not be otherwise – that’s how it is, because Thundermother always means 200%.
This was also my last concert. It’s also great that they are always there for the fans afterwards. Photos, short exchanges, autographs etc. are ALWAYS possible.
I hope that times will get better again sometime and normality will return.

How I lost my heart to Thundermother
(a love story by Jens Hulvershorn…)
Zum ersten Mal gesehen habe ich die Mädels in Kiel – im Vorprogramm von D.A.D. Jesper Binzer und seine Jungs sind in Dänemark Legenden. Und da Kiel quasi Süd-DK ist, musste ich da hin. Ich war beeindruckt. Begeistert allerdings von den Mädels davor. Was für eine Power… puh!
Richtig gefunkt hat es 2018: Full Metal Cruise. Thundermother spielten ihren ersten Gig auf der Mini-Bühne einer der vielen Bars. Guernica war total erkältet und es tat einem fast körperlich weh, wie sie sich quälte und versuchte alles zu geben. Nach 5 Songs hielt ich es nicht mehr aus. Ich ging zum Tresen und lies ein Coctailglas mit Whisky (dem guten) füllen und gab es Guernica in der nächsten Pause. Sie zog den Gig durch. Ob Whisky die Stimme ölte oder sie einfach weniger Schmerzen hatte ist nicht überliefert. Am nächsten Morgen beim Frühstück stand sie plötzlich vor mir. Und sagte diesen Satz, der immer in mir sein wird: „Yesterday you saved my life. Thank you!“. Tja, da war es um mich geschehen. Aus einer von vielen Favoriten-Bands wurde DIE Band. Weil es eben diese Menschen sind und nicht nur brillante Musiker.
Seitdem gab es viele Wiedersehen – auf der Kieler Woche, bei der Kaperfahrt in HH, auf der Hallig Langness, in Frankfurt. Thundermother waren am 11.3. das letzte Konzert vor dem ersten Lockdown, am 01.11. in Hohenlimburg das letzte vor dem Lockdown. Zum Jahresende habe ich Guernica geschrieben „This year YOU saved my life!“. Das ist so, weil mich der Mut der Mädels, immer zu spielen wenn es geht, inspiriert. Und weil ich über Thundermother mit Trixi, André und Thomas großartige neue Freunde fürs Leben gefunden habe.

I saw the girls for the first time in Kiel – in the support of D.A.D. Jesper Binzer and his guys are legends in Denmark. And since Kiel is quasi South DK, I had to go there. I was impressed. But impressed by the girls in front of them. What a power… phew!
It really sparked in 2018: Full Metal Cruise. Thundermother played their first gig on the mini stage of one of the many bars. Guernica was totally cold and it almost physically hurt how she was struggling and trying to give everything. After 5 songs I couldn’t take it anymore. I went to the bar and had a cocktail glass filled with whiskey (the good kind) and gave it to Guernica during the next break. She pulled off the gig. Whether whiskey oiled the voice or she was simply in less pain is not known. The next morning at breakfast she suddenly stood in front of me. And said this sentence that will always be in me: “Yesterday you saved my life. Thank you!”. Well, that was it for me. One of many favorite bands became THE band. Because they are just these people and not just brilliant musicians.
Since then there have been many reunions – at the Kieler Woche, at the Kaperfahrt in HH, on the Hallig Langness, in Frankfurt. Thundermother were on 11.3. the last concert before the first lockdown, on 01.11. in Hohenlimburg the last before the lockdown. At the end of the year I wrote Guernica “This year YOU saved my life!”. That’s because I’m inspired by the courage of the girls to play whenever they can. And because I found great new friends for life through Thundermother with Trixi, André and Thomas.
Thundermother – My Story -Jay Gee
(You have to believe in Destiny…) I used to play guitar quite often, decades ago, I played with a drummer every Friday for years. Bad news hit when he discovered he had cancer. I watched my friend slowly fade away over the next few months. It was devastating to me. After his funeral, I did not play much. Eventually, I met another friend, and he played drums! We were to start playing after Christmas. Unfortunately, I got the news he took his life on Christmas Day. One of the saddest funerals I had been to. Years went by and my son started playing drums and became very good. He played with several bands and was even a counselor at Camp Jam in which he loved. We started playing together in my small studio in the basement. It was awesome! I was his biggest fan. He decided to join the Marines and I did not see him for a couple of years, and my playing went dormant. He came home for a brief visit, we had a great time and I really missed him. Two weeks later there were Marines knocking on my front door to tell me my son had taken his own life. Words cannot describe what I went through. A few months later, my Father passed, and that put me over the edge. I stopped playing altogether and my studio sat empty and dark for years. There is one year that was very dark for me, and I do not remember anything. Depression engulfed my body, spirit and soul. I could not function for years. My mind, thoughts, and priorities changed forever. I walked away from my Executive Job with a fat salary and bonuses. None of that meant anything to me anymore. Therefore, I have been in my home for years deteriorating, doing nothing. What the hell does this have to do with Thundermother? Well, I slowly started listening to music again on YouTube, but it was dark and gothic type style music. Not helping with my mental state at all. One day I came across a Thundermother video and enjoyed it. Time passes and after a lot of therapy, I start to listen to rock that is more upbeat. Thundermother came up in the YouTube queue once again, and they were very good. I started to read about them. The difficulties, the hard work, and dedication was very inspiring. Then the “Racing on Mainstreet” came out, and I was hooked…., then, “Driving in Style” was released and I was blown away. What good, kick ass, rock in roll is supposed to sound like. Best news yet I started to feel better and have better days. I came across another video where Filippa was offering guitar lessons. Next thing you know I am taking lessons from one of the hardest working, knowledgeable, smart, and nicest person.. I am now back to practicing daily and learning some great tunes. Filippa breaks it all down, writes tab and provides videos for me to learn. In addition, I get her tips and tricks she has acquired from years of playing. Great experience! I have learned a lot!!!!! Last thing, my son and I used to have a joke about turtles, and at me job, for whatever reason, we used to always say, “Turtle, turtle”, to each other. The bar I frequented had a turtle shot. I live on Turtle Rock Ct., have ceramic turtles on my front porch, when I went into the hospital one of the nurses gave me a turtle trinket for good luck, then I see that Filippa likes turtles too……trippy man! Sorry it is a bit long, but it is good therapy for me. Thanks!

I was on youtube to see what they are for some chicks….Thought to myself, Swedish rock from girls.. Hmm
Was surprised by their music, we must see them…
As usual we got up by the rail and were ready for the girls from Sweden, they come in and there weren’t playing many stanzas….I was sold….they where playing great.
There was a good atmosphere, and a great pingpong with the girls….at one point Fillippa stood at our side, what happened I don’t know, but suddenly I had fillippa’s foot in the rib cage… She smiled and we totally freaked out.
We talked to all of them after the concert and got some great foto´s together with them, we had a great night.
Meine Thundermother Story von Michael Schulze
Ich entdeckte Thundermother durch einen Zufall durch Werbung von einem Konzert im März 2019 in Kolding/DK. Ich fuhr mit 3 Freunden dorthin. Ich liebe Konzerte und hatte nur gelesen das die Band Rock spielt und das war schon Grund genug, für mich eine Karte zukaufen. Vor dem Konzert in Kolding hatte Ich noch nie ein Lied von der Band gehört und war deswegen sehr gespannt. Vor dem Konzert an der Bar kam Filippa mit ihrer Gitarre vorbei. Die Band hatte gerade ein Interview und photo shooting in der Lokation. Da dachte Ich “ach das ist ja cool”. Ich habe mir dann ein Shirt gekauft und dann kam die Bassistin Sara kurze Zeit später raus und hat mich gesehen und mir dann zugerufen “you look cool”. Das Konzert war fantastisch und ich wurde von dem Moment an ein richtiger Fan. Ich kaufe viel merch und Schallplatten usw. Echt coole Musik und super nette Girls. Mit Guernica halb schwedisch/dänisch zu reden ist immer cool
My Thundermother Story by Michael Schulze
I discovered Thundermother by chance through advertising from a concert in March 2019 in Kolding/DK. I went there with 3 friends. I love concerts and had only read that the band plays rock and that was already reason enough for me to buy a ticket. Before the concert in Kolding I had never heard a song from the band and was therefore very excited. Before the concert at the bar Filippa came by with her guitar. The band had just an interview and photo shooting in the location. I thought “oh that’s cool”. I bought a shirt and then the bass player Sara came out a short time later and saw me and called out to me “you look cool”. The concert was fantastic and I became a real fan from that moment on. I buy a lot of merch and records etc. Really cool music and super nice girls. Talking to Guernica in half Swedish/Danish is always cool.

The first time I heard „Whatever“ on RadioBob, I didn’t know what hit me. I immediately fell in love with that Rock ‘n Roll voice coming from my radio. That’s where my love, or what some might even call obsession, with this amazing band started.
I was so lucky to win tickets to see the band play live in the Black Pearl Tattoo Studio but due to an accident I ended up not beeing able to attend. I was devastated and heartbroken.
Luckily over time I had other opportunities to see Thundermother perform live. The first time was at Wacken Brauereifest. I stood in the front row and it was one of the best concert experiences I have had. I had tinitus for the rest of the weekend but I didn’t care one bit. I even managed to catch one of Filippa‘s used guitar picks which I still have and carry with me every day. It has become my good luck charm.
A few years later I had the honour to be part of the music videoshoots for „Dog from hell“ and „Driving in Style“. It was a crazy fun day and I even got to spend some time chatting with the band members which made me extremely happy. On that day I also met the german fanclub and joined it right away. They took me in like we had know each other for ages.
Since then I’ve also attended a bunch of their Corona-concerts which were always a welcome distraction from everything else going on. I also got to take part in the music video for „Into the mud“ and can honestly say that I have never had that much fun while getting so extremely dirty.
Thundermother’s music has become a part of my life. It’s the strength I need after a tough day at work. It’s the motivation I need when I work out. It’s the energy that rocks through every fibre of my being when I need it the most.
It’s a love for life.
Ich bin Angelika Keil aus Leichlingen im Rheinland.
Bis zum Sommer war mein Musikgeschmack sehr weitreichend. Ob Bon Jovi, Sarah Connor oder Modern Talking, Klassik oder R&B im Radio oder sonstwo lief, war mir eigentlich relativ egal. Dann schickte mir ein guter Freund eine Mix CD, auf der ACDC, Brian Adams, Tom Petty und eben auch Thundermother zu hören waren. Zack – voll erwischt, die Songs von Thundermother wurden sofort zu meinen Favoriten. Einige sehr coole Youtube Videos verstärkten meine frische Liebe zur Powermusik der Schwedenmädels. Meine Freunde und Familienmitglieder wunderten sich anfangs noch, aber nachdem bei einer kleinen Gartenparty ein Tisch zu Bruch ging, auf dem meine Freundin und ich dazu abrockten, wurden keine weiteren Fragen mehr gestellt.
Dann lud mich mein Freund Jens auf ein Konzert nach Münster ein. Zu Coronazeiten im Oktober 2020 gab es genau eine Band, die trotz aller Schwierigkeiten noch auf Tournee ging: Thundermother. Wir trafen uns nachmittags in Münster beim Jovel Cinema, wo im Außenbereich eine Bühne und überdachte Sitzplätze aufgebaut waren. Zunächst waren wir ganz entspannt und überlegten, wo es wohl Kaffee geben könnte. Als Jens aber die Geräusche des Schlagzeugs über die Anlage hörte, war es mit seiner Ruhe vorbei. Er hatte nach eigenen Worten “ganz schlimmen Rocknrollentzug” und wollte wie angestochen zur Bühne, obwohl der Laden ja noch geschlossen war, er ist als Musiker manchmal halt noch emotionaler unterwegs als ich. Da wir dann aber beim Aufbau nicht weiter stören wollten, sind wir erst mal shoppen gegangen. Also ich. Betreutes Shoppen quasi.
Abends waren wir pünktlich im Jovel und nahmen die Plätze ein. Dann kamen Thundermother auf die Bühne und die Show begann. Innerhalb von einigen Sekunden war alles anders. Wie im Film. Was da an Energie von der Bühne kam, raubte mir wirklich den Atem. Diese 4 Frauen sind der Wahnsinn. Ich war wie hypnotisiert, bevor der erste Song vorüber war, es ging Schlag auf Schlag. In der Pause kaufte Jens mir ein Shirt und ich CDs von Thundermother. Das Konzert hätte gerne noch 2 oder 3 Stunden länger gehen können, musste aber wohl aus Lärmschutzgründen pünktlich beendet werden.
Beim Renovieren und meinem Umzug, im Auto, immer wenn es ging und geht, höre ich diese geile Musik, egal ob von CD, Youtube oder Alexa. Schön dass es sowas noch gibt – echte handgemachte Musik von echten tollen authentischen Frauen. Ihr tragt Euren Namen zu recht, Ladies. Danke, dass es Euch gibt.

Until this summer, my taste in music was very wide-ranging.
Whether Bon Jovi, Sarah Connor or Modern Talking,
classical music or R&B was playing on the radio or elsewhere, I didn’t really care.
Then a good friend sent me a mix CD with ACDC, Brian Adams, Tom Petty and Thundermother on it.
Boom – totally caught, the songs of Thundermother immediately became my favorites. Some very cool Youtube videos reinforced my fresh love for the power music of the Swedish girls. My friends and family members wondered at first, but after a table broke at a small garden party, where my girlfriend and I were rocking out to it,
no more questions were asked.
Then my friend Jens invited me to a concert in Münster.
In Corona times in October 2020, there was exactly one band that was still touring despite all the difficulties: Thundermother.
We met in the afternoon in Münster at the Jovel Cinema, where a stage and covered seats were set up outside.
At first we were quite relaxed and thought about where there might be coffee. But when Jens heard the sound of the drums over the stereo, his peace was over. He had, in his own words
“He wanted to go to the stage, even though the place was still closed. As a musician, he is sometimes even more emotional than I am. But since we didn’t want to disturb the set-up, we went shopping first.
Well, I did. Supervised shopping, so to speak.
In the evening we were punctually at the Jovel and took our seats.
Then Thundermother came on stage and the show started.
Within a few seconds everything was different. Like in a movie.
The energy coming from the stage really took my breath away.
These 4 women are insane. I was like hypnotized,
before the first song was over, it went blow by blow.
During the break Jens bought me a shirt and I CDs of Thundermother.
The concert could have gone on for 2 or 3 hours longer,
but had to be finished on time for noise protection reasons.
While renovating and my move, in the car,
whenever I can, I listen to this great music,
whether from CD, YouTube or Alexa.
Nice that there is still something like this –
real handmade music from real great authentic women.
You wear your name rightly, ladies.

Am 20.08.20 hab ich Thundermother zum ersten Mal unplugged live gesehen. Bei unserem lokalen Radio Sender Gong 97.1. Ich kannte die Band zuvor noch nicht und es hat meinen Kumpel Henry und mich umgehaut. Ich musste mir natürlich gleich ein Tshirt und eine LP kaufen. Danach gab es noch Autogramme und Fotos mit der Band.
On 20.08.20 I saw Thundermother live unplugged for the first time. At our local radio station Gong 97.1. I didn’t know the band before and it blew my buddy Henry and me away. Of course I had to buy a Tshirt and an LP right away. Afterwards there were autographs and photos with the band.

Ich bin schon seit einigen Jahren Fan von Thundermother. In der neuen Besetzung und mit Guernica als Sängerin, die einfach nur Klasse singt, gefällt mir Thundermother nun viel mehr. Jetzt bin ich großer Fan und durfte die Mädels auch schon 2x live in Hohenlimburg erleben. Nach dem ersten Konzert entstanden die Fotos. Sie gaben mir Autogramme und waren sehr sympathisch und lustig. Es war um mich geschehen und die Liebe war da. Ich kann sagen: Thundermother ist meine absolute Lieblingsband, die mir sehr am Herzen liegt. Ich bin froh, ein Teil des Fanclubes zu sein, der von einer tollen Truppe geleitet wird. Diese Gruppe macht einfach Freude und immer wieder schöne Momente.

I have been a fan of Thundermother for several years. In the new line-up and with Guernica as a singer, who just sings great, I like Thundermother much more now. Now I am a big fan and was allowed to experience the girls already 2x live in Hohenlimburg.
After the first concert the photos were taken. They gave me autographs and were very sympathetic and funny. I was immediately in love. I can say: Thundermother is my absolute favorite band, which is very close to my heart.
I’m glad to be a part of the fan club, which is led by a great troupe. This group is just a joy to be a part of and always gives me great moments.

Ich kenne Thundermother schon einige Jahre und in der alten Besetzung. Da hat es leider nicht ganz so gefunkt. Und dann hörte ich “Whatever” bei Radio Bob und mich hat es umgehauen. Diese Stimme! …ich war schock verliebt.
Das erste Mal live sah ich sie dann 2017 in Wacken. Danach folgten viele Konzerte bei der Kieler Woche auf der Radio Bob Bühne, im Wackinger in Wacken usw usw…
Einen besonderen Moment durfte ich beim Baltic Open Air 2018 erleben, als die Mädels plötzlich neben mir standen beim New Roses Konzert. Ich war so aufgeregt, dass ich kein Wort raus bekam und sie waren so nett. Dort traf ich auch das erste Mal auf Yasmin und Hannes und dort begann irgendwie alles. Thundermother kam in mein Leben und in mein Herz.
Jeden Tag werde ich direkt oder indirekt mit der Band konfrontiert. Sei es auf der Fanseite, Berichte schreiben für die Homepage, Absprachen oder Nachfragen bei der Band oder ein Lied, das irgendwo gespielt wird. So muss meine Familie meine Verrücktheit geduldig ertragen und auch mit der Präsenz der Band tagtäglich leben.

I know Thundermother already for some years and in the old line-up. Unfortunately it didn’t really work out that way. And then I heard “Whatever” on Radio Bob and it blew me away. That voice! …I was shockingly in love.
The first time I saw them live was in 2017 in Wacken. After that followed many concerts at the Kieler Woche on the Radio Bob stage, at the Wackinger in Wacken etc etc….
I was able to experience a special moment at the Baltic Open Air 2018, when the girls suddenly stood next to me at the New Roses concert. I was so excited I couldn’t get a word out and they were so nice. There I also met Yasmin and Hannes for the first time and somehow everything started there. Thundermother came into my life and into my heart.
Every day I am confronted directly or indirectly with the band. Be it on the fansite, writing reports for the homepage, arrangements or inquiries with the band or a song being played somewhere. So my family has to bear my craziness patiently and also live with the band’s presence every day.

Yasmin & Hannes:
Hannes und ich haben bei Radiobob von einem Gewinnspiel gehört. Es ging um ein Acoustic Concert bei Black Pearl Tattoo Husby. Die genannte Band, Thundermother, haben wir zuvor noch nie gehört, haben aber trotzdem am Gewinnspiel teilgenommen. Leider haben wir nicht gewonnen.
Kurz danach erfuhren wir, dass Thundermother in Flensburg im Kühlhaus spielen sollte. Wir haben uns einfach mal blind Tickets gekauft, ohne auch jemals ein Lied gehört zu haben. Wir haben es als Überraschung angesehen.
Beim Kühlhaus standen wir plötzlich in der ersten Reihe, direkt in der Mitte.
Als Thundermother auftrat waren wir einfach nur begeistert und unfassbar glücklich, dass wir Tickets gekauft haben. Direkt nach dem Konzert haben wir gesehen, dass sie in Kiel spielen, auch dafür haben wir sofort die Tickets gekauft.
Zwischenzeitlich haben wir alle vorhandenen Alben gekauft, die Lieder rauf und runter gehört und die Lieder quasi auswendig gelernt. Das Konzert in Kiel war natürlich auch der Wahnsinn. Zu dem Zeitpunkt haben wir Thundermother als Lieblingsband betitelt.
Wir haben uns viele Tickets gekauft, sind den Mädels teilweise durch ganz Deutschland hinterhergereist. Die Mädels sind der absolute Hammer!
Hannes and I heard about a competition at Radiobob. It was about an acoustic concert at Black Pearl Tattoo Husby. We have never heard the band, Thundermother, before, but we took part in the competition anyway. Unfortunately we did not win.
Shortly after that we found out that Thundermother was supposed to play in Flensburg at the Kühlhaus. We just bought tickets blindly without ever having heard a song. We took it as a surprise.
At the Kühlhaus we were suddenly standing in the front row, right in the middle.
When Thundermother performed we were just thrilled and incredibly happy that we bought tickets. Right after the concert we saw that they were playing in Kiel, we immediately bought tickets for that as well.
In the meantime we bought all available albums, listened to the songs up and down and learned the songs quasi by heart. The concert in Kiel was of course also insane. At that time we called Thundermother our favorite band.
We bought a lot of tickets and followed the girls all over Germany. The girls are the absolute hammer!

TM habe ich durch Zufall entdeckt. Ich war im Februar 2015 in Stockholm zu einem Gig von Bonafide aus Malmö,Vorband Supercharger aus Kopenhagen (kannte beide von früher als Vorgruppen von Crucified Barbara). Die Dänen fielen aus und THUNDERMOTHER sprang ein. Ich hatte von ihnen gehört, hielt sie aber für eine weitere AC/DC Coverband….ich war völlig überrascht über ihre musikalische Vielfalt. Damals spielten sie noch in der Urbesetzung mit 2 Gitarren. Nach der Show traf ich sie und sagte Filippa, dass sie mit ihrer Gibson SG soundmässig nicht mit der Explorer von Giorgia mithalten könne. Beim nächsten Gig hatte sie das korrigiert. Jetzt ja sowieso. Ich traf die Gruppe noch einige Male in Schweden, Frankreich und den Niederlanden, bevor sie selber Headliner wurden und hier in Deutschland ihren Durchbruch hatten…und hoffentlich weiter haben. Ich glaube, ich habe sie so 20 Mal bisher gesehen…
TM I discovered by chance. I was in Stockholm in February 2015 for a gig of Bonafide from Malmö, support band Supercharger from Copenhagen (knew both from earlier as support bands of Crucified Barbara). The Danes dropped out and THUNDERMOTHER stepped in. I had heard of them, but thought they were just another AC/DC cover band….I was completely surprised at their musical diversity. At that time they were still playing in the original lineup with 2 guitars. After the show I met them and told Filippa that she couldn’t keep up with Giorgia’s Explorer sound-wise with her Gibson SG. By the next gig she had corrected that. Now anyway. I met the group a few more times in Sweden, France and the Netherlands before they became headliners themselves and had their breakthrough here in Germany…and hopefully continue to have it. I think I’ve seen them about 20 times….

Am 07.05.2016 hatte ich mir Tickets für D-A-D in der Halle 400 in Kiel gekauft. Als Vorband war Thundermother auf dem Ticket gedruckt. Sagte mir zu dem Zeitpunkt überhaupt nichts. Wie oft bei Konzerten, bin ich rechtzeitig, auch um mir die Vorband mit einem Bier in der Hand anzusehen, so habe ich schon einige Bands entdeckt. So sollte es auch an diesem Abend sein. Weil ich überhaupt nicht wusste, was mich erwartet war ich erst mal überrascht, dass 5 Frauen auf der Bühne stehen. Ja, ich lest richtig, die ursprüngliche Besetzung bestand aus 5 Frauen, die Gitarre war doppelt besetzt. Mit dem ersten Ton war ich total von der Musik und der Leidenschaft begeistert, so dass ich gleich nach dem Konzert bei Spotify nach Thundermother gesucht habe und mir die Alben angehört habe. Ich hatte mir vorgenommen, diese Band im Auge zu behalten. Dann erfuhr ich über den Metal Hammer, dass bis auf die Gründerin (Filippa, das wisst ihr natürlich) alle Mitglieder die Band verlassen haben. Schade, dachte ich, die Band hat Potenzial. Etwas später gab es dann die Meldung, dass die Band in neuer Besetzung und nun nur noch zu viert weitermacht. Beim Wacken Open Air 2017 hatte ich dann die nächste Chance die Band zu sehen. Am Donnerstagnachmittag auf der Biergarden Stage haben die Mädels nicht nur mich begeistert. Mir gefiel die neue Besetzung auf Anhieb sehr gut. Guernica hatte sich, wie eine Footballspielerin, schwarze Streifen unter die Augen gemalt. Das wirkte auf mich wie, als wenn sie auf der Bühne steht um die Welt zu erobern. Mit diesem Konzert bin ich zum großen Fan geworden, eine richtige Liebe zur Band hat sich im August 2018 entwickelt, als ich das erste Mal mit Filippa und den anderen Mädels nach einem Konzert gesprochen habe. On 07.05.2016 I had bought tickets for D-A-D in the hall 400 in Kiel. As an opening act was Thundermother printed on the ticket. Said nothing at all to me at the time. As often at concerts, I am in time, also to look at the opening band with a beer in hand, so I have already discovered some bands. So it should also be on this evening. Because I didn’t know at all what to expect I was first surprised to see 5 women on stage. Yes, I read correctly, the original line-up consisted of 5 women, the guitar was double. With the first note I was totally hooked on the music and passion, so right after the concert I searched for Thundermother on Spotify and listened to their albums. I had resolved to keep an eye on this band. Then I learned via Metal Hammer that except for the founder (Filippa, you know that of course) all members have left the band. Too bad, I thought, the band has potential. A little later there was the news that the band continues in a new lineup and now only four. At the Wacken Open Air 2017 I then had the next chance to see the band. On Thursday afternoon on the Biergarden Stage, the girls not only thrilled me. I liked the new line-up very much right away. Guernica had painted black stripes under her eyes, like a football player. It looked to me as if she was on stage to conquer the world. With this concert I became a big fan, a real love for the band developed in August 2018, when I first talked to Filippa and the other girls after a concert. Wie wurde ich Thundermother Fan???
Ich hatte eines Tags im Sommer bei Youtube gestöbert, um was zu suchen und war durch Zufall bei Frauen- Rockgruppen gelandet. Es gibt ja so viele und bei Thundermother hab ich erstmal Thunder gelesen und musste erstmal an AC/DC denken. Hab dann das Video “Dog from Hell” angeklickt und war begeistert, so geile Riffs und ein geiler Sound. Hatte dann auch die anderen Videos angeschaut und es war um mich geschehen. Hab mich dann bei Wikipedia schlau gemacht, was Sie für Alben rausgebracht hatten und musste diese dann unbedingt haben. War natürlich erst mal nur auf den Gesang von Guernica Mancini versteift und dachte na wer weiß wie die Vorgängerin Clare Cunningham klingt. Aber je öfter ich die Alben mit Clare hörte, hatte ich auch meine Lieblingsongs vor allem “Thunder Machine” “Rock´N´Roll Sisterhood” “Hellevator”…Die Anfänge der Lieder finde ich so geil, dreh dann bei mir zu Hause immer schön laut auf. Ihre Stimme verleiht den Liedern ein geiles Feeling, ihre rauchige Stimme einfach nur geil. Hatte am Anfang “Thunder Machine ” als WhatsApp Klingelton. Jetzt ist es “Rock´N´Roll Sisterhood”. Aber auch auf den anderen Alben hab ich Favoriten zum Beispiel “Driving in Style” “Into the Mud” “Whatever” “Racing on Mainstreet” “We Fight for Rock N Roll” “Free Ourselves” “Heat Wave” .Und dann musste ich die Shirts von Thundermother haben. Ich war einfach infiziert mit Thundermother. Bin ja auch schon soo verrückt ,Sachen mit Thundermother zu machen, wie meine Teelichter mit jeden einzelnen Buchstaben, meine Modelltrucks, meine gemalten Bildern, mir fällt bestimmt immer wieder was neues ein, bin eben manchmal kreativ.
How did I become a Thundermother fan???
One day in the summer I was browsing Youtube, looking for something and by chance I ended up at women’s rock groups. There are so many and with Thundermother I first read Thunder and had to think first of AC/DC. Then I clicked on the video “Dog from Hell” and was thrilled, so cool riffs and a great sound. Had then also watched the other videos and it was done around me. Then I looked up on Wikipedia what albums they had released and had to have them. Was of course first only on the vocals of Guernica Mancini stiffened and thought well who knows how the predecessor Clare Cunningham sounds. But the more I heard the albums with Clare, I also had my favorite songs especially “Thunder Machine” “Rock’N’Roll Sisterhood” “Hellevator” … The beginnings of the songs I find so cool, then turn up at home always nice and loud. Her voice gives the songs an awesome feeling, her smoky voice just awesome. Had at the beginning “Thunder Machine ” as a WhatsApp ringtone. Now it’s “Rock’N’Roll Sisterhood”. But also on the other albums I have favorites for example “Driving in Style” “Into the Mud” “Whatever” “Racing on Mainstreet” “We Fight for Rock N Roll” “Free Ourselves” “Heat Wave” .And then I had to have the shirts of Thundermother. I was simply infected with Thundermother. I’m soo crazy to do things with Thundermother, like my tea lights with every single letter, my model trucks, my painted pictures, I’m sure I’ll always come up with something new, I’m just creative sometimes.

Das fing am 09.08.2019 (Filippa’s Geburtstag) auf dem “Tank mit Frank”-Festival an. Ich war hauptsächlich wegen Kissin’ Dynamite da, die natürlich ebenfalls bombastisch auf der Bühne waren, aber ich glaube für jeden waren die Mädels aus Schweden die heimlichen Stars des Tages, die haben gerockt als wäre es der letzte Tag. Nach der Show konnte ich es mir nicht entgehen lassen, die Rockerinnen am Fanshop zu treffen, der Band zum Auftritt und Gitarristin Filippa zum Geburtstag zu gratulieren und natürlich das übliche Selfies und Autogramme mitnehmen. Normalerweise kaufe ich mir keine Shirts von Bands, die ich als Vorband gerade live gesehen habe, aber bei Thundermother musste ich eine Ausnahme machen. 
Die haben absolut alles signiert, was die in die Finger bekommen haben, jeder der wollte bekam seinen Selfie und Gruppenfotos wurden auch gemacht. Nach dem Abend hatten die Mädels einen neuen Fan und das zweite Konzert folgte zwei Monate später in Münster, was wieder eine hammer Show und eine unvergessliche Aftershow-Party wurde. Mein aller schönstes Erlebnis mit der Band war der Drehtag zu den Musikvideos zu „Driving In Style“ und „Dog From Hell“ im Februar 2020 in Taarstedt. Nicht nur die Tatsache überhaupt in einem Musikvideo von einer so tollen Band zu sein, sondern auch die Musikerinnen näher kennen zu lernen und so viele Gleichgesinnte aus verschiedenen Orten zu treffen. Heute bekannt als „Thundermother Nation“, die beste Fan-Community. Und dann beim legendären Album-Cover „Heat Wave“ mittendrin, statt nur dabei. Doch das Sahnehäubchen war natürlich mein großer Auftritt im Video zu „Driving In Style“. Das Zusammenspiel mit der Bassistin Majsan war herrlich, allein schon ihre bösen Blicke wegen meiner schlechten Anmache, kaum zu glauben, dass das ihre erste Schauspielerfahrung ist, die Frau ist eben ein Naturtalent, nicht nur was Musik angeht. Und dann klatscht sie mir die Torte ins Gesicht und leckt meine Brille ab. Das alles schafften wir in einer One-Shot-Szene. Hinterher gab es von Sängerin Guernica zur Belohnung einen Kuss auf die Wange. Auf eine ausgedehnte „Heat Wave“-Tour haben sich die Rockerinnen und ihre zahlreichen Fans gefreut. Leider zu früh. Die Krise kam. Doch dank gutem Management und einem raffiniertem corona-freundlichem Konzept schafften es die Mädels wieder auf die Bühne, zwar vor viel kleinerem Publikum, als geplant, aber mal ehrlich welche Band stand während der Pandemie häufiger auf der Bühne, als diese Mädels aus Schweden? „We Fight For Rock & Roll“ ist eben mehr als nur ein Song. Thundermother haben vielen Fans 2020 deutlich angenehmer gemacht, wofür ich ihnen sehr dankbar bin.
This started on 09.08.2019 (Filippa’s birthday) at the “Tank mit Frank” festival. I was there mainly because of Kissin’ Dynamite, who were of course also bombastic on stage, but I think for everyone the girls from Sweden were the secret stars of the day, they rocked like it was the last day. After the show I couldn’t miss meeting the rockers at the fanshop, congratulating the band on their performance and guitarist Filippa on her birthday, and of course taking the usual selfies and autographs. Normally I don’t buy shirts from bands I’ve just seen live as the opening act, but with Thundermother I had to make an exception 🙂 They signed absolutely everything they could get their hands on, everyone who wanted got their selfie and group photos were taken too. After the evening the girls had a new fan and the second concert followed two months later in Münster, which was again a hammer show and an unforgettable aftershow party.
My very best experience with the band was the shooting day for the music videos for “Driving In Style” and “Dog From Hell” in February 2020 in Taarstedt. Not only the fact to be in a music video of such a great band at all, but also to get to know the musicians better and to meet so many like-minded people from different places. Now known as “Thundermother Nation”, the best fan community. And then being in the middle of the legendary album cover “Heat Wave” instead of just being there. But the icing on the cake was of course my great performance in the video for “Driving In Style”. The interplay with the bass player Majsan was wonderful, just her evil looks because of my bad come-on, hard to believe that this is her first acting experience, the woman is just a natural talent, not only when it comes to music. And then she claps the cake in my face and licks my glasses. We managed all that in a one-shot scene. Afterwards, singer Guernica gave me a kiss on the cheek as a reward.
The rockers and their numerous fans were looking forward to an extended “Heat Wave” tour. Unfortunately, too early. The crisis came. But thanks to good management and a clever corona-friendly concept, the girls made it back on stage, admittedly in front of a much smaller audience than planned, but honestly which band was on stage more often during the pandemic than these girls from Sweden? “We Fight For Rock & Roll” is more than just a song. Thundermother have made 2020 much more enjoyable for many fans, for which I am very grateful.
Hi , I’ve been thinking how did I get to Thundermother…? The story is super nice and so stuck with me – 2018 you were at the Wacken Open Air at the Wacken Foundation Camp for the “Cooking Course”. I’ve been the Foundation photographer for a few years now and was really happy to have a couple of girls from Sweden at the start! Until today I ask myself why you go to a festival in bathing slippers You guys were so approachable, extremely friendly and your dish was an absolute blast! Then, since 2018, I’ve been totally curious about your musical development – when I remember you playing on the main stage of Wacken Open Air around 12 o’clock, my heart swells! Music is passion, love, open-mindedness and shows so many emotions! You gave me all that from minute 1. In the course of time I got the opportunity to photograph you – be it in the Knust in Hamburg, the Werner Rennen, Wacken Open Air, Autokino Heide, Ballroom Kaperfahrt in Hamburg and and and… I can still list so many, because meanwhile I have seen at least 15 Thundermother concerts and photographed some of them. Every morning the look in the fan group of Thundermother at Facebook, almost 30 photos of you in my office, quite a few souvenirs like plectrum, drumstick, sweatbands and the like decorate my everyday life with great memories of you, Guernica, Emlee and Majsan! I hope so much that in the next 10 years we will see just as many great concerts of you, I may accompany you a little photographically and we will meet again and again – THUNDERMOTHER FAMILY!

Simone Pfister – My Thundermother Story
I met the girls for the first time in 2018 at the Bang Your Head-festival’s Warm-Up-Party and found them pretty good right away. Then one year later in July 2019 I saw them again at „Backstage“ in Munich and found them really good. Over the time I liked Thundermother better and better …. and what can I say … the girls are fantastic and fight for Rock’n’Roll !!! ….and also the great fan club that accompanies the band is phenomenal!

I spontaneously visited 2019 Rock at the town hall market with André, Yasmin and Hannes. After that, I met the girls in person. I liked the whole thing so much that I wanted to find out more. Then as a helper accompanied the video shoot for Into the mud, where I was allowed to meet many more super nice people. Including you Trixi. Here I could also get to know Michael, Nicolai and Helge better. There it was done…Fan through and through. This love is also shared by my family and even Christmas gifts are aimed at the band
In May 2016, I went to the D.A.D. “risking it All” gig for the 25th year anniversary in Paris. There, I joined my German friend Bruno Schötz. We knew each other because we are both fans of Crucified Barbara who just split. Bruno told me that the support band, Thundermother, was awesome and that they shall become the new Crucified Barbara! When the doors opened and I easily got myself a good spot to attend the show. Then, TM started. I was amazed. This was not a band on the stage, but a sophisticated war machine. Each piece of The show looked under control, prepared and executed with care, big time. I did not expect Filippa playing among the audience, I was flabbergasted or maybe I should say, I was thunderstruck! The music was really good, the show amazing and the girls stellar. After the D.A.D. gig, I went to the merch (managed by Mimmie Dahlin) and bought a CD, a t- shirt and got the chance to have my picture with the band. What a memory! At that time, I was suporting a Dutch symphonic metal band who recently split. I thought, maybe there were something I could do to help TM. I reached the band on Facebook and offered my help to run an official fan page. They loved the idea and were very happy with the support. We met on tour as much as I could do; I started an online communication and created many digital assets and designs: a tour poster, facebook banners, stickers, magnets, live videos, t-shirts, song lyrics artwork, interviews, baseball cards, etc. E.g. the official video for the song “Revival” is made at 95% of video footages I made during the 2018 Summer Tour. I supported Thundermother through all the changes, crisis and now deeply believe that they will make it to the metal Hall of Fame.

How I became a Thundermother fan. Here is the little story of Olli Knipper. My rockbody Claus told me about a women’s band from Sweden that played in my hometown Oldenburg in 2013. He was absolutely thrilled. It took a while until I could finally see you live in the Rosenhof Osnabrück. Wow, what was that. An amazing concert. It was like an injection. Pushed for life. I got to know a lot of great Thundermother fan club fans. The Kaperfahrt in Hamburg with the band, up close followed by a meal in the Hardrock Café, and the band members at the table. Thanks. Thanks also to Trixi who just took me along. The chemistry was right. I am glad that I can be out and about with such great Thundermother fans. A family for life.

I really got to know the girls and saw them live at the Nikolaut in Oberhausen. We were there because of John Diva. When John Diva the girls were on stage and rocked next to us in the front row, I found that cool and super sympathetic.
When a FB friend posted last year that the girls were doing a Corona tour, I called the cell phone number on the Thundermother page on FB and had Micha on the phone. I explained him the situation and the concept of Werkhof. He said that the girls actually had a day off, but he wanted to ask them. Our advantage was that we have an artist’s apartment in the building and the girls could travel from Dortmund and Münster without having to change hotels. That was my first contact and all were totally relaxed and sympathetic. Meanwhile, they were the third time with us and I of course also on concerts of them in Oberhausen and Münster and Dortmund

this ist the story about my first Thundermother experience. I saw the band as support for D.A.D. in Kiel at the „Halle 400“. It was a great show, so I went to the merchandise table straight after the gig and bought the album „Road Fever“ on vinyl. A few seconds after I got my album a blond girl stand next to me and said: „Thanks for the support“. It was Filippa but I was too surprised to ask to sign my vinyl or to make a quick photo. I was very annoyed about my stupidity but I hope I can get an autograph and a picture at a concert in the near future.
