Die Tourplanung passte nicht zu meinen dienstlichen Terminen, weshalb ich nur 3 Konzerte von dieser Tour sehen konnte. Eines davon war das Konzert im Festsaal Kreuzberg. Berlin zeigte sich an diesem Tag von seiner besten Seite und so konnten wir vor dem Konzert noch ein paar schöne Stunden mit Sightseeing verbringen. Am Einlass hatten sich schon ein paar Leute versammelt, die auch keine Band verpassen wollten. Los ging es mit VULVARINE einer all-female-band aus Österreich. Bis zu der Ankündigung, dass sie als Support von Thundermother dabei sind, war mir die Band unbekannt. Bei Tourauftakt in Hamburg hatte ich dann den ersten Livekontakt mit der Band und mit jedem Konzert gefällt mir die Band besser. Im Oktober kommt die Band nach Hamburg und ich bin mir sicher, dass ich da hingehen werde. Das die Mädels mutig sind, beweisen sie mit dem Modern Talking Cover „Cherry Cherry Lady“. Auf der Albumversion hat Filippa mitgewirkt. Leider war nach knapp 35 Minuten auch schon Schluss und der Umbau für Cobra Spell begann. COBRA SPELL war mir schon von vorherigen Konzertbesuchen bekannt. Kopf der Band ist Sonia Anubis (ex BURNING WITCHES und CRYPTA), die die Band im Jahr 2022 gegründet hat. Als Liveact hat die Band schon viel Erfahrung gesammelt und liefert eine sehr gute und kurzweilige Show. Thundermother begannen ihre Show mit einem Intro und dem Song „Can you feel it“ vom aktuellen Album “Dirty & Divine”. Der perfekte Start in über 90 Minuten puren Rock. Es sollten noch 19 weitere Songs bis zum Ende des Konzertes folgen. Die Songs vom neuen Album bilden logischerweise das Grundgerüst des Gigs und werden von älteren Stück sehr gut umrahmt. Beim Song „Shoot to Kill“ läuft Linnea durch die Menge und lasst das ein oder andere Selfie machen. Abgeschlossen wird der Abend mit „Driving in Style“ und ca. 1.000 Leute gehen glückselig nach Hause. Kurz nach dem letzten Ton steht die Band, wie auch die anderen Bands am Merch für ein Foto oder Plausch bereit. Auch wir treffen noch ein paar bekannte Gesichter und führen noch ein paar Gespräche. Berlin, das war fantastisch. Fazit: Drei tolle Bands unterschiedlicher Stilrichtungen an einem Abend in einer tollen Location. Der Ausflug nach Berlin hat sich gelohnt.
The tour planning didn’t fit in with my work schedule, which is why I was only able to see 3 concerts from this tour. One of them was the concert at Festsaal Kreuzberg. Berlin was at its best that day and so we were able to spend a few nice hours sightseeing before the concert. A few people had already gathered at the entrance and didn’t want to miss any of the bands. We started with VULVARINE, an all-female band from Austria. Until the announcement that they were supporting Thundermother, the band was unknown to me. At the start of the tour in Hamburg I had my first live contact with the band and with every concert I like the band better. The band is coming to Hamburg in October and I’m sure I’ll be going. The girls prove that they are brave with their Modern Talking cover “Cherry Cherry Lady”. Filippa took part in the album version. Unfortunately, it was already over after just under 35 minutes and the changeover for Cobra Spell began. I already knew COBRA SPELL from previous concert visits. The band is fronted by Sonia Anubis (ex BURNING WITCHES and CRYPTA), who founded the band in 2022. As a live act, the band has already gained a lot of experience and delivers a very good and entertaining show. Thundermother began their show with an intro and the song “Can you feel it” from the current album Dirty & Divine. The perfect start to over 90 minutes of pure rock. Another 19 songs were to follow until the end of the concert. The songs from the new album logically form the backbone of the gig and are very well framed by older songs. During the song “Shoot to Kill”, Linnea runs through the crowd and takes the odd selfie. The evening ends with “Driving in Style” and around 1,000 people go home happy. Shortly after the last note, the band, as well as the other bands, are ready for a photo or a chat at the merch. We also meet a few familiar faces and have a few more conversations. Berlin, that was fantastic. Conclusion: Three great bands of different styles in one evening in a great location. The trip to Berlin was well worth it.
