Heute fand für die Mitglieder von getnext.to/thundermother der erste Hangout mit dem Thundermother Management statt. Hier ist eine kurze Zusammenfassung der fast 90 Minuten, in dem alle Fragen erlaubt waren.
Auf die Frage hin, ob das kommende Thundermother Album auch bei Media Markt, Saturn etc. erhältlich sein wird, gaben Eric und Michael einen kurzen Exkurs in die Strukturen der Plattenläden & Musik Stores. Die großen Händler (Media-Markt, Saturn usw.) werden in Zukunft das Angebot von physischen Tonträger (CD, Vinyl) stark reduzieren, so dass zu erwarten ist, dass viele Veröffentlichungen, wie auch eine Thundermother CD, früher oder später nicht mehr bei den genannten Händeln zu finden sein werden. Aus diesem Grund werden eigene Vertriebswege (Bandshop, Labelshop, etc.) für zukünftigen Veröffentlichungen immer wichtiger.
Das wir schon jetzt beherzigt und die farbigen Vinyl der kommenden Heat Wave Deluxe Edition sind streng limitiert sein und werden nicht nachgepresst. Wenn weg, dann weg. Wer sich so ein rares Stück kaufen möchte, muss deshalb schnell sein. Die farbigen Vinyls gibt es hier:

Beim Merch wird weiter auf Qualität statt Quantität gesetzt. Es ist daher nicht beabsichtigt, alle möglichen Artikel (Figuren oder vergleichbares) auf dem Markt zu bringen und die Marke „Thundermother“ einem ausverkauft zu unterziehen.
Aktuell gibt es Gespräche mit Brauereien in Schweden und Deutschland, damit das Thundermother Bier in Europa erhältlich sein kann.
Das Management ist weiter optimistisch, dass auch im Jahr 2021 Konzerte stattfinden können. Am Mittwoch 17.02.2021 werden alle aktualisierten Konzertdates bekanntgegeben. Die Konzerte im April/Mai/Juni 2021 werden unter Coronabedingungen stattfinden mit stark begrenzter Kapazität, Abstand und Hygiene-Vorschriften. Ähnlich so, wie die Konzerte in der zweiten Hälfte des Jahres 2020 (persönliche Anmerkung von mir: die haben sehr viel Spaß gemacht) vonstattenging. Auf jeden Fall gibt es genug Pläne die Band auch 2021 auf die Bühnen zu bringen. Die Band selbst wartet nur auf den Startschuss un kann es nicht erwarten wieder Live zu spielen!
Der Deal mit der Bookingagentur in den USA kam durch die Medienpräsenz von Thundermother zustande und hat das Management und die Band total überrascht. Die harte Arbeit und die fantastische Musik hat sich ausgezahlt. Auch wenn es die Band nicht erwarten kann in den USA zu spielen, wird Europa, insbesondere Deutschland, Schweden, Frankreich der Hauptmarkt bleiben.
Mein persönliches Fazit der 90 Minuten. Das Hangout war sehr informativ und hat Einblicke hinter die Kulissen gestattet. Es wurde noch viel mehr besprochen, dass wird dem Kreis der Mitglieder von getnext.to/thundermother vorbehalten bleiben, weshalb ich das hier nicht ansprechen werde. When asked whether the upcoming Thundermother album will also be available from Media Markt, Saturn etc., Eric and Michael gave a brief excursus into the structures of record stores and music stores. The big dealers (Media-Markt, Saturn, etc.) will in the future greatly reduce the supply of physical sound carriers (CD, vinyl) so that it is to be expected that many publications, such as a Thundermother CD, will sooner or later no longer be available the dealers mentioned will be found. For this reason, own distribution channels (band shop, label shop, etc.) are becoming increasingly important for future publications.
That we have already taken to heart and the colored vinyl of the upcoming Heat Wave Deluxe Edition are strictly limited and will not be re-pressed. If gone, then gone. If you want to buy such a rare piece, you have to be quick. The colored vinyls are available here:

Merch continues to focus on quality instead of quantity. It is therefore not intended to bring all possible articles (figures or similar) onto the market and to sell out the “Thundermother” brand.
There are currently talks with breweries in Sweden and Germany so that Thundermother beer can be available in Europe.
Management is still optimistic that concerts can also take place in 2021. All updated concert dates will be announced on Wednesday February 17th, 2021. The concerts in April / May / June 2021 will take place under corona conditions with very limited capacity, spacing and hygiene regulations. Similar to how the concerts took place in the second half of 2020 (personal note from me: they were a lot of fun). In any case, there are enough plans to bring the band to the stage in 2021. The band itself is just waiting for the starting signal and can’t wait to play live again!
The deal with the booking agency in the USA came about through the media presence of Thundermother and totally surprised the management and the band. The hard work and the fantastic music paid off. Even if the band can’t wait to play in the US, Europe, especially Germany, Sweden and France will remain the main market.
My personal conclusion of the 90 minutes. The hangout was very informative and allowed a look behind the scenes. Much more was discussed that will be reserved for the circle of members of getnext.to/thundermother, which is why I will not address that here.
